Three Wheeled Buggies
Three-wheeled buggies are great for walking around the neighborhood or for jogging. Their compact design makes it easy to maneuver, even in tight spaces.
If you want a smooth ride with your pram, choose models with 360deg front wheels that swivel. However, they are more prone to punctures, so make sure you are prepared with a repair kit.
Sturdy frame
Recent figures have been released that show that the three-wheeled buggie - that noughties symbol of more money than wisdom - is in steep decline. Four-wheelers have replaced them, and are more versatile and easy to drive and look elegant.
The general principle is that the larger the wheels are, the easier it'll be for your buggy to deal with bumpy and rough pavements. The larger wheels, both front and rear enable you to move and more stable when walking downhill or in difficult terrain.
MFM reviewer Kath tested this buggy with the newborn baby and a toddler and found it to be very robust. It was able to withstand cobbles, grass and rough pavements as well as dirt tracks and kerbs. 3 wheeled pushchair said that it felt sturdy to push, and very solid on difficult terrain. Its tyres, which are inflated and require to be pumped up occasionally, have built-in suspension. This was very comfortable for my kids.
Another thing to think about is the size and shape. The seat should be big enough to allow your child to be comfortable and to allow them to lie down. Certain three-wheel buggies have the option of reclining completely, while others only allow for the parent to be facing one.
An excellent option for taking on off-road or muddy walks is the Roma Atlas. This buggy is ideal for a single child starting from birth and can be adjusted to accommodate two children as your family grows. It is suitable for babies and toddlers up to age four and includes a bumper bar, raincover, an improved 5-point harness, and a large cushioned seat unit. Storage options are also good with a large basket and zip pockets on the hood, and an extra pouch at the rear of seat unit.
Wheels with a greater diameter
Larger wheels mean your buggy will be more stable on rough terrain - perfect for off-road buggies. In addition, they help you maneuver the buggy through tight spaces. Certain three-wheeled buggies have swivel wheels on the front, which help you navigate tight corners. Others are designed to run and have fixed wheels that lock for increased speed and stability. This is also helpful in the event that you hit a tree root or stray curb, since the front wheel will rise up a bit to prevent you from hitting it.
A lot of 3 wheel pushchairs have air-filled tyres, which means they are able to handle many different terrains and are much more adaptable than 4-wheelers. They also tend to be lighter. They are also more susceptible to punctures, and you'll require repair kits and an spare inner tube in your arsenal.

Mountain Buggy Core, Venicci Carbo and Venicci Carbo lux are some of our favourite 3-wheelers. Both of these buggies have larger wheels that, as per MFM reviewer Kath, "perform really well on grass, gravel tracks and market town cobbles" and are able to effortlessly go up and down kerbs. The buggies also have suspensions that Kath says "smooths out bumps extremely effectively".
Buggies with larger wheels can be quite wide, and they may be a challenge to fit into narrow spaces. This is an issue when you're using it for an exercise bike or to to get through doors that are narrow when out and out and about. Fortunately, many models come with small folding options that allow you to remove the front wheels to create more compact storage.
Easy to manoeuvre
One of the major advantages to a three-wheeled buggy is that it is much easier to maneuver particularly with a child on the way. They are designed to ensure that the front wheels can be turned on a dime and are easy to navigate, making them ideal for terrains that are difficult, such as parks, cobblestones, bumpy roads, and dirt tracks.
MFM reviewer Kath tried out a three-wheeler with her toddler and newborn and wrote: "The Terrain was a pleasure to navigate over the rough ground, with the swivel front wheel particularly useful. I was also awed by how well it handled kerbs when using the hand-operated break. It was extremely stable when in the downhills or on uneven terrain."
The only downside to this amazing maneuverability is that the larger wheels of the 3 wheel buggy might make it difficult to squeeze into tight spaces. This is something to keep in mind when your home is an urban area. If this is an issue then a four-wheeled buggy might be a better option for you.
Bumper bar
Bumper bars are the ideal method to shield your child from scrapes and bumps when out and out and about. They are easy and quick to install and make your child feel safe and secure while out on the town or tackling tough terrain.
It is designed to complement the sleek lines of your Slim Twin stroller, this bumper bar has a soft and padded surface that provides an ideal place for your child to hold on to during walks. The sturdy construction and durable design ensures that your child can take a stroll around town without fearing of falling out of the buggy or leaning too far ahead.
The fabric sling sits snugly within the frame and not on top of the seat that is modular. This creates a lower center of gravity for your baby at the ideal height, and also offers great weight distribution, making it easier to pop over curbs (it is much easier to push the stroller up and over than you may think). MFM reviewer Kath discovered that it was able to cope well with grass and cobbles and is a great option for jogging with its lockable swivel front wheel and air filled tyres.
With a stylish and sophisticated design This bumper bar is sure to turn heads wherever you go. Available in a range of colours and finishes, it can be customized to fit your style. The bumper bar is easily removed and put in place using a quick-release mechanism. Moreover, the bumper bar is easy to clean and is made from durable materials that are simple to wipe down. This makes it a great option for families that want an attractive and secure accessory for their stroller.
Comfort
A 3-wheel buggy is the best off-road vehicle for maneuverability and performance. This type of buggy is simple to steer and can turn at a moment's notice due to its perfect geometry engineering, as well as weight distribution.
3 wheeled pushchair of the Sport places the fabric sling seat within the frame, rather than over it like modular seats. This allows it to have a lower center of gravity, which means it is easier to push, has a lighter curb-pop (you will not need to exert as much effort to lift the buggy's nose over a curb) and also provides greater stability and balance. And with the huge rear wheels that measure 16 inches, lockable swivel front wheel and tyres filled with air that require just a few pumps for a bump free ride over rough terrain and a smoother, more comfortable jog too.
The only stroller that is all-terrain in our collection that has a parent-facing seat that can also accept the car seat or carrycot, you are able to make sure your family is prepared for every adventure - beginning from the first day, and for years to be!
But that's not the only reason you should love this buggy It's also a great way to get around - our MFM reviewer Kath was impressed by how spacious it is as well. There's a big, easily accessible basket that's quite spacious for such a small buggy as well as an excellent zip-up pouch at the back of the seat unit, and even 2 smaller mesh pockets inside the hood to store your keys and phone.
